Kick-off Meeting November 4th – 5th 2005

At our Kick off meeting November 2005 we were discussing the main target for the next round in IP Soil II, to clarify the procedure for the Intensive program in March 2006 and also to develop methodological approaches, how to initiate a dialogue between those who own the land and the soil and those who are interested in keeping our land multifunctional.

At the beginning we had lectures about the question, how to bridge between the available scientific knowledge on one side and those who nee it for defining policies, and operational procedures, such as stakeholders, and politicians and decision makers on the other side.

Within group work and plenary sessions we were elaborating a basis for dialogue, to further the emotional understanding between the participants of the Kick off Meeting and to enable all interest groups concerned, to understand their common situation better and to accept responsibility for it. Three different groups (urban, rural and wilderness group) were sharing information about the responsible use of soil and land regional development.
